Phyllis, We also had a Blessed Easter, spent with many of the family, just a wonderful day. Yes, everyone was so impressed with the chicks, and I have to tell you, even though I dyed them, they were still soft and all were gone before we ate dinner. I thank you again for this wonderful recipe.
Marilyn, thank you. We truly had a Blessed Easter; hope you did as well. Sooooo, tell us - your relatives were super impressed with your adorable chicks - right?!!!!
Marilyn - you ARE talented - you made them! If you look on the original recipe comments so many other talents are talking about how to make them stand up straight -- everybody is so talented here at JAP. My eggs are boiling now as I type this. Happy Easter to you & yours.
Jan, Thank you. I will definitely let you know if they are tough. I hope not. I was making a recipe called Colored Deviled Eggs. Colored Deviled Eggs I didn't use a kit, I only used 1/2 cup of water, 1 Tbl. vinegar and 3-4 drops of food coloring, for each color.
Marilyn, your chicks are adorable, and the colors are SO pretty. I had mentioned that a new bride in our family brought deviled eggs to our Easter party once years ago and she had died the whites like this (though I don't know HOW she did it! LOL!) They were REALLY tough. Would you report back and let us know if yours turned out tender and how you colored them? I've been afraid to ever try it since that early fiasco!
I am very happy with these cute little chickies, they will be the stars of my Easter egg platter. I also cut a small piece off the bottom to help them stand, and I will put some greens under them on Sunday. Thanks again for the recipe and Have a Wonderful Easter
